Jewelry for Women Who Carry Their Western Soul in Plain Sight

Built tough just like you, to handle the hard work you’ll put them through.

Beautiful and one of a kind– true enough to catch your shine.

Heirloom Jewelry to Last Your Lifetime – and the Next Cowgirl’s in Line

I own one piece of heirloom jewelry – a turquoise necklace that belonged to my late husband’s grandmother.

She was someone who had mastered the art of contentment, was incredibly resilient, had a deep relationship with God, and strengthened all of my husband’s best qualities. She meant a lot to him, so she is important to me. Wearing her necklace – I am reminded to emulate her character.

When I wear my handmade jewelry, I think about passing it down to the next generation of cowgirls.

It drives me to keep becoming the woman I’m meant to be—the kind they’ll look up to.

The kind who wears her western spirit well, so that one day, they’ll be proud to wear a piece of that legacy—a tangible reminder to hold themselves to something higher.

“I figure if a girl wants to be a legend, she should just go ahead and be one.” - Calamity Jane

Humankind has long made a tradition of passing down knowledge, treasures, and attitudes. In the American West, the cowgirl’s spirit has become the timeless essence of women that live here…

Women who are up before everyone else in the house and to bed long after. Who work alongside men and animals —bringing out the gentler sides of both.

Women who give the shirt off their backs to make sure their family and neighbors are loved well.

Who aren’t afraid to stand up for what’s right, even if it means they are standing alone.

Women who chase what sets their soul on fire, yet find peace where their boots stand.

That type of tough, selfless spirit inspires generations.

The Sonoran Mountain Collection

The Sonoran Mountain Collection features stones from Sonoran Mountain mine in Mexico. These beauties caught my eye right away with their gorgeous green and gold veins and bright turquoise color. These stones are a popular right now.

They are punchy and vibrant but also classic enough to be timeless. Although these stones remind me of summer with their bright blues and eye catching greens, they are a stone that can be worn any time of year.

Whether they’re with you while you’re gathering cows off the mountain or enjoying Thanksgiving dinner they are here to inspire grit and grace.

Elevate your western style with a piece from this collection on November 14th at 5pm MST.

My Maker’s Story

The path that has led me to hand-smithing silver and turquoise jewelry has not been an easy one.

When tragedy showed up out of the blue — grief and heartbreak left me longing for a craft that could still my soul.

I have always loved creating, whether it be with a leather stamp or a pencil. I’d always wanted to learn how to be a silversmith— so I decided to dive in. I joined Be A Maker School and found some peace in practicing my new trade.

The response I got from family, friends and my Montana community truly blew me away…

I can’t ever say how grateful I am to all of you who give me the space to relax, dance, have fun, breathe and just be while I make.

Your support means everything. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here.

God Bless,

Jess

High-Quality Western Jewelry Made in Montana

A glimpse into how I turn silver and turquoise into a cowgal’s accent pieces…

All of the pieces you see are hand-forged in my little shed-workshop a few yards from my house in Avon, Montana. I watch out the window as our horses graze lazily and my mom chases my boys around in the yard while I work.

I start every new collection by scouting the stones I’m going to feature. Most of the turquoise stones centered in my pieces ship in from mines in Arizona and Nevada. Whatever colors are striking me at the time are the ones I choose. Then I order all of the quality sterling silver I’ll need from Rio Grande.

Once those little beauties show up at my house, I sit with them and get to thinking about their best look on you. I set to my sketch pad and draw out a design for every stone to create the new collection. After a couple days of drawing… it's time to light things up.

Playing with fire is my favorite part of the process. It requires all of my focus. A few melted and broken pieces have schooled my ability to be fully present.

I blast the music while I wrap each stone in a bezel wire, solder it to a silver sheet, then cut it out to give it its shape. Dancin’ and singin’ at my bench, I form, then solder on whatever you’ll wear it with— a ring band, cuff, or earring post.

For extra special pieces I use my engraving tool to free-hand my designs on the silver. It gives the piece an even more handmade, one-of-a-kind feel for your western flair.

After that, this cowgirl goes a little mad scientist. Each piece gets a bath in a baking soda and water solution to neutralize the acid that was produced in the soldering process. This makes sure your sterling silver stays its beautifully classic color. Then I polish up each piece to make it shine.

My handy little Canon Camera and I head out into my yard and take some pictures of the pieces. All the animals ponder me a bit — but I think they’re getting used to it. After that is when I share them with all you wonderful cowgals.

The drop-day rodeo continues to leave me speechless. Western women from all-over show up to sell out my new collections in hours, if not minutes.

Make sure you get signed up for my emails so you don’t miss it — I’m so excited to see how you wear your western spirit.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How often do new collections drop?

I’m ready to turn out a new collection about every 6 weeks (give or take– depending on my crazy life). The best way to make sure you don’t miss a drop is to subscribe to my email list, and follow me on Instagram @jessicapricedesigns!

How soon do I get my handmade jewelry pieces?

New collections drop on Fridays and I ship the pieces to you on Mondays via USPS.

What is your return policy?

JP designs is a one-woman operation. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough slack to manage returns and exchanges right now. All sales are final, no returns.

Where do you source your materials from?

The stones come from several different mines in Arizona and Nevada. I order high quality sterling silver from Rio Grande. If you’re interested in more specifics, feel free to message me.

Why are your jewelry pieces so expensive?

Becoming a silversmith is not a one-foot-in type of adventure. It requires a heavy investment in tools and materials as well as countless hours spent honing the craft. I prioritize forging high-quality jewelry pieces that are tough enough to last generations of wear during work and play. I price fairly based on the cost of the high quality materials I source and the time and effort I’ve put into each creation. I’m grateful for your support of my small business and my family.

Do you do commissions?

Each of my pieces are one-of-a-kind. I do not do commissioned or custom orders.
